What is Hexerei: Secret Rite

Hexerei: Secret Rite is a team buff system that activates when you have two Hexerei characters in your party. When the conditions are met, both characters receive extra effects on their combat abilities. These buffs make them stronger and improve how well they work together as a team.

To unlock these buffs, each Hexerei character must complete their own special task. Once you finish these character-specific missions, they become full Hexerei members. After that, pairing them with another Hexerei character will activate the Secret Rite bonuses automatically.

List of Hexerei Characters

Several Mondstadt characters can become Hexerei members in Version 6.2. Each one receives unique buffs that change how they play.

Character Buffs Explained

Each Hexerei character gets different buffs when the Secret Rite is active. Some characters receive small quality of life changes while others get complete playstyle overhauls. Here’s what each character gets:

  • Albedo: His Elemental Skill now creates Silver Isotomas instead of regular ones. These new constructs deal more damage with Transient Blossoms and boost the damage of other Hexerei members based on his DEF stat. He basically becomes a stronger version of Chiori but needs another Hexerei character instead of a second construct.
  • Klee: Her Normal Attack combo no longer resets, making her much more comfortable to play. Her third Normal Attack will also consume an Explosive Spark to unleash a Coordinated Charged Attack automatically. This changes her playstyle from spamming Charged Attacks to using them less often.
  • Venti: He receives one of the biggest changes in this update. His Normal Attacks now get Anemo Infusion while his Elemental Burst is active. This turns him into a viable on-field driver similar to Sethos. His Burst has also been fixed to spawn at the center of enemies for better accuracy. You’ll want to build some Energy Recharge on him now since he stays on field longer.
  • Fischl: When Oz is on the field and Hexerei buffs are active, she provides team-wide buffs based on reactions. Triggering Overload gives your whole team an ATK boost. Triggering Electro-Charged or Lunar Charged increases the team’s Elemental Mastery instead. Think of it as having Tenacity of the Millelith for Overload teams or Instructor set for transformative reaction teams.
  • Razor: He can now overflow his Electro Sigils when his Burst is active and sigil stacks are full. The extra sigils deal AoE Electro damage and help him regenerate energy. This makes him similar to Ororon in Overload teams. His personal damage now matches characters like Raiden, Gaming, and Sethos among 4-star DPS options.
  • Durin: His buffs make his Elemental Burst stronger in both forms. His RES reduction in White form becomes more powerful. The damage boost to Vaporize and Melt reactions also gets enhanced. These changes make him even better in reaction-focused teams.
  • Sucrose and Mona: The buffs for these two characters have not been officially revealed yet. Based on early information, Sucrose may function like a Noblesse user while Mona might get changes that mix her Omen buff with main DPS capabilities.

How to Unlock Hexerei Buffs

Each Hexerei character has their own quest or task you must complete. Finishing these missions unlocks their Hexerei membership status. Once unlocked, simply put two Hexerei characters in the same team to activate the Secret Rite bonuses.

The game will show you when the buffs are active. You don’t need to do anything special during combat. Just play normally and enjoy the extra damage and utility these characters bring to your team.

Best Team Combinations

Since you need two Hexerei characters to activate the buffs, building teams around this system is important. Venti and Fischl make a strong pair for reaction teams. Albedo works great with any other Hexerei member since his Silver Isotomas buff their damage. Klee and Durin can form the core of a Vaporize or Melt team with proper support.

Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for your playstyle. The Hexerei system rewards players who invest in multiple Mondstadt characters.
